Instructions:

  1. Notification for admission to the course shall be made public through local dailies and electronic media by the office of the Director-General, Youth Services & Sports, Jammu & Kashmir.
  2. Candidates are required to apply online through website: https://jkgcope.edu.in/onlineadmission/bpedadmission
  3. Before starting to fill up the online application, keep ready with you the following details/documents/information:
      1. Personnel and Qualification details.
      2. Valid Email Id
      3. Mobile Number
      4. Sports Achievement(s) duly verified by the competent authority (.pdf format)
      5. Permanent Residence Certificate/Domicile Certificate (.pdf format)
      6. Category Certificate (if any) (.pdf format)
      7. Character Certificate (.pdf format)
      8. Picture and Signature (.jpeg format)
  4. The online application form submitted by the candidate will be scrutinized by the Admission Committee, an acknowledgment by the committee will be generated for each candidate so that he/she shall know the status of his/her application, whether the application received shall be accepted or rejected based on the information provided by the candidate.
  5. An amount of 250/- shall be deposited at any J&K Bank Branch by the candidate against the challan generated.
  6. Hard copy of the application form along with the requisite documents shall be submitted at the below-mentioned office or by post before the date cited in the admission advertisement.

Course Eligibility:

This is in pursuance of the implementation of the recommendations of Justice Verma Commission on Teacher Education by the University as per Final Plan of Action approved by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, it is noticed for the information of all  candidates  who  have  applied or  are desirous to apply for admission to B. Ed/ B. P. Ed and M. Ed programmes through University Departments or Government/Private Colleges, that the duration of the aforementioned courses from the current academic session shall be of two years.

  1. The candidate applying for Direct/In-service quota seats shall be below 33 years and 53 years of age as on 1st January of the ensuing session respectively.
  2. The candidate should be a domicile of UT of J & K.
  3. The Candidate should be medically fit and must possess good moral character.
  4. The candidate should be a graduate in any stream from a recognized University having minimum 45% Marks in respect of General Category and 40% in respect of reserved category.
  5. The candidate should have played at least Inter-District/Inter-College, Inter-State/Inter- University Level championship in the games and sports covered under SGFI and University Level competitions vide Govt. Order No: 808-JDA of 2008 dated 17-06-2008 as amended from time to time/ till date or NCC “B” or NCC “C” certificate.
  6. The sports category certificate attached must be verified by the concerned secretary/ President of Association for authentication of the certificate. No certificate shall be ascertained without verification.
  7. The reservation to category candidates shall be applicable as per the Reservation Rules in vogue.

Admission Policy:

Online application form invited for admission to B. P. Ed. Two Year Course shall be scrutinized in the office of Principal, Government College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal. The candidate who has submitted the online application form will be notified via electronic message regarding the status of the form, whether the form verified will be accepted or rejected.  There-after the candidate has to deposit the application fee following the procedure notified in the electronic message received on registered Mobile Number or Email Id. The candidate has to submit the hardcopy of the application form along with the required documents by or before the last date notified in the advertisement. The candidate whose form is found complete in all respects shall be entertained for Physical Efficiency Test and Viva-voce. The candidate shall bring all original certificates/documents for verification by the admission committee at the time of their reporting for the viva-voce/interview. A Candidate shall have no right to claim for admission if he/she fails to produce any relevant document pertaining to admission at the time of the interview before the admission committee. The selection of a candidate shall be based on his/her performance in the Academic Qualification, Sports Achievement(s), Physical Efficiency Test & Viva-voce.

Academic Qualification: (30 Marks)

  1. The weightage of the qualifying examination shall be calculated on a pro-rata basis with reference to the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in graduation.
  2. Criteria for calculation on a pro-rate basis is:(% of marks * points of qualification/100)

Sports Achievement: (30 Marks)

The marks shall be awarded on the basis of the highest achievement in sport or game. Only such games or sports which are recognized by the Ministry of Sports and Human Resource Department (HRD) Government of India/Indian Olympic Association SGFI/J&K Sports Council /J&K Olympic Association shall be considered for evaluation. Weightage under each category is mentioned below:

International Level Participation 10 Marks
Medal at Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, and School Nationa1/ Inter-University Level 10 Marks
Participation at Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and School National/Inter-University Level 07 Marks
Inter-College/Inter-District/State Level Participation 03 Marks

Note: An applicant having participated at different levels in a single discipline shall be pertinent for the above ladder. Suppose, a candidate has participated in Football both at State-Level as well as at National-Level will be given 10 Marks. On the other hand, the candidate with participation at a different levels in separate disciplines shall be awarded points for the participation in the higher level only.

Physical Efficiency Test: (30 Marks)

The marks shall be awarded on the basis of Skill Performance in Physical Efficiency Test to be held separately for Boys and Girls as per the below mentioned proforma:

Boys:

Race 1500 Meter 10 Marks
Long Jump 10 Marks

Girls:

Race 200 Meter 10 Marks
Race 800 Meter 10 Marks
Long Jump 10 Marks

 Viva-Voce: (10 Marks)

Viva-Voce shall be conducted separately in order to check the knowledge, ability and aptitude towards the Game/Profession.

Note:

  • Reservation to various categories as per existing rules and orders shall be applicable.
  • The qualified candidates will be placed in order of merit in different categories.
  • In-Service seats are reserved for the graduate PET employees drawn from the parent department (Youth Services & Sports, J&K Government) on the basis of seniority having minimum 5 years of service.
  • In-Service candidates shall be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test.
  • Only such In-Service candidates shall be granted admissions who are deputed by their parent Department (YSS) on or before the declaration of the selection list of direct candidates, in accordance with University instructions.
  • Unfilled seats among the In-service and category candidates shall be filled in the order of merit from amongst the direct candidates
  • Where two or more candidates have secured equal marks in the merit list, the tie shall be decided (I) on the basis of aggregate merit obtained in the qualifying examination, i.e. a candidate with higher aggregate marks shall be given preference, (II) If the tie still persists, the aggregate merit of the subject in which the admission is sought shall be reckoned by taking the merit of that subject in all the three years BA/B.Sc./B.Com, 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year into account.

Reservation of Seats:

Seats available in a Course of study, shall be filled up from Open merit category candidates. Remaining seats available in a Course shall be filled up from amongst the reserved categories in order of merit. The breakup of seats for various reserved categories and the authorities competent to issue the required certificate in respect of the reserved categories are given below:

Note:

  1. If a candidate is eligible to apply for admission under more than one reserved category, he/she shall be required to choose (while submitting the online Application Form) only one Reserved Category for the course under which he/she would like to be considered, which shall be final, and unchangeable. For example, if a candidate is eligible under three categories RBA, EWS, and WUP, he/she shall have to choose only one of the three categories under which he/she shall compete for admission to a particular program.
  2. The certificate under clauses 1-7 must be in accordance with SRO 127 of 20, April 2020 of the J&K Government and subsequent SRO’s issued by the Government in this regard.

Selection Policy:

A selection committee has been framed by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to prepare the selection list based on the performance of a candidate’s Academic Qualification, Sports Achievement, Physical Efficiency Test and Viva-voce. Members designated for preparation of the selection list are as under:

The following procedure shall be adopted to prepare the selection list:

  1. Total seats available for a particular program shall be divided among each category as specified in the reservation policy.
  2. All seats available under the open merit category except any fractional part shall be allotted to eligible candidates in order of their merit irrespective of their applied categories.
  3. In case, no eligible candidate is available under a particular reserved category, the seat(s) including fractional part under that category shall be shifted to open merit category. In case, the number of eligible candidates available under a particular reserved category is not sufficient, the remaining seat(s) including fractional part under that category shall be shifted to open merit category.
  4. Fractional part attached to open merit category left in (i) above and seats resulting from (iii) above including their fractional parts shall be clubbed together (added) to calculate further seats to be allotted under open merit category. This number shall be rounded to nearest integer (i.e. if greater than or equal to 0.5, one seat shall be allotted).
  5. A seat matrix indicating number of seats and fraction of seat for each reserved category shall be prepared.
  6. Candidates shall be selected in order of their merit from each reserved category as per the seat matrix prepared in step (v) above leaving behind any fractional part at this step.
  7. Selection of candidates against fractional seats shall be made from only those reserved categories whose fractional part was added in step (vi) above.
  8. The fractional seats shall be given to candidates in order of their respective merit, from each reserved category, which has not been represented in step (vii).
  9. Remaining fractional seats (if available) shall be allotted to candidates in order of their respective merit from reserved category (subject to maximum of one seat per category) whose fractional part was added in step (vi) but were not given a seat in step (vii).
  10. If at any stage no eligible candidate is available for admission from a reserved category, that seat/fractional part shall be shifted to open merit category and filled up.

Declaration of Merit Lists/Selection Lists:

  1. All the notifications shall be uploaded on the official website of the College. The College does not own any responsibility for a candidate not being informed and candidate shall not be informed separately.
  2. The detailed merit list mentioning physical efficiency test points, details of the qualification examination and other components, as per the procedure of admission, shall be displayed on the College website. Complaints and queries in writing to the Principal Government College of Physical Education, with documentary proofs, if any, with regard to Merit list shall be open for two working day (up to 4:00 p.m.) from the date of uploading of merit list on website. The same shall be attended promptly. Thereafter, the Selection List shall be issued. No complaints whatsoever shall be entertained with respect to individual merit of a candidate after publishing of the selection list.
  3. The selection list shall be issued on the basis of relative merit acquired by the candidates.
  4. In case vacancies are available / are caused even after issuance of selection list, admission against vacant seats shall be made on counselling. The counselling to a course where the seats remained vacant after the issuance of selection list, shall meant for only those candidates who are in waiting list i.e. if the cut off merit of selection list was 20 points, the counselling should only be for the candidates having obtained 19.75 points and below. However, the candidate already selected in main selection list and has forfeited his/her right to admission due to non-completion of admission formalities, shall be given a chance for appearing in the counselling only after the candidates in the merit list exhausted in full. Therefore, students in their own interest shall remain in touch with the Admission Unit. While issuing the Counselling Notification on the College website, seat matrix shall also be made available and the students shall have the option to give on Counselling Application Form available on the University website while attending the Counselling Session/s. The candidates shall have to attend counselling along with the Original Marks/Qualifying/other documents. If a candidate is selected for admission, he/she shall have to submit the original certificates of Qualifying Examinations & DOB certificate on spot. Submission of original Documents shall be taken as consent of the candidate for seeking admission. After the deposition of original certificates, the candidates would be required to deposit fees within 3 days. If a candidate fails to deposit fees within 3 days, he/she shall forfeit the chance for admission, and the next candidate in sequence from the counselling list shall be offered admission.

Closure of Admission:

A notice of at least one week shall be given for the closure of admission, to provide sufficient time to all concerned to fill up all the available seats.

Refund of Admission Fee:

If a student chooses to withdraw from the course, the following four-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student shall be followed:
